Weaving Vessels are a set of objects that facilitate the wrapping of copper wire as an alternative way to decorate ceramics. Making Islamic inspired patterns and applying them in an unorthodox manner.

Projecting patterns on to each ceramic body, allowed for the positioning of “anchors” which would hold the wire. Each one playing a functional role in the application of the copper.

Initially shiny and straight, the copper pattern warps within the kiln as the firing burns it into the clay body. Turning the functional anchors into purely aesthetic remnants of a process, outlined with newly formed black lines.
